If you are looking to get out to a campsite quick, Verlot campground could be a good choice. Its the 2nd campground along the Mt loop Highway and sits on the South Fore Stillaguamish river. Its a Traditional National Forest Service campground with water, toilets but no electricity. It makes a great basecamp for hikes up to Mt Pilchuck, lake 22, Heather lake and several other fund spots.
